5-foot-7, 140 pound outfielder with a smaller build does a nice job with his footwork getting to the side ball and fielding it well showing an average glove. Takes momentum well into throws following them afterwards while hitting 71 mph on throws to home plate. A top of the lineup type bat from the right side. Goes with a toe turn to get lower half involved as hands show a slight back load. Swing is compact with barrel traveling on a slightly downhill path. A feel hitter who consistently found the barrel in BP.
60-yard dash: 7.39
Outfield Velocity: 71
Exit Velocity: 72
5-foot-7, 140 pound outfielder moved well defensively getting to a good position to field the baseball. If he can improve coming through the ball as he fields it to increase momentum, he can add to his position of 76 mph. He already follows his throws well and they are accurate, but there is more in his arm. Offensively Lewis had a short swing and stayed on several pitches with very good contact. He can get his backside more involved to develop some torque and power output which will increase his exit velocity of 63 mph. Lewis jumped out of the box with a 4.00 home to first after his last swing.
1/15/18
Ran a 7.17 60-yard dash. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Goes with a toe turn load to get things going. Hands move slightly back prior to launching the barrel on a downhill path to the baseball. A contact type guy with feel for finding the barrel. Showed the ability to use all field with more natural ball flight to opposite field gap. Recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph. In the outfield he plays with a quicker tempo in his approach prior to slowing momentum at fielding to ensure ball security. Plays two-handed through the baseball and uses a pro step for momentum. A center/left fielder type guy with 71 mph arm strength to home plate.
An outfielder that uses quick footwork approaching the baseball. Uses two hands during fielding for ball security. Showed quickness to his transfer. A right-handed bat that starts in a crouched setup. Hands remain simple during his short stride forward. A contact type hitter that takes a slightly uphill path to the ball. Would be aided by more weight transfer into contact. Worked the middle of the field during batting practice.
