2/16/15 Big 6-foot-3, 200-pound body frame with thick, stronger lower half. In the outfield he tends to have a more hesitant approach with his actions approaching ground balls, showing good crow hop mechanics throwing with a clean arm action coming through a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 82 mph with good carry on his throws. On the mound his delivery requires regular effort. He throws with a short arm action using average arm speed coming through a ¾ slot. His fastball ranged between 77-80 mph. He threw his changeup below fastball arm speed at 58-61 mph. Left-handed hitter with a strong lower ½ and leg kick to load. Needs to get his foot down earlier and tends to dive in. Registered top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran 7.93-60.
9/29/19 Body Type: 6-foot-4, 249-pound uber physical frame. Swing Mechanics: Uses a leg kick timing trigger with quiet hands through launch. Hit: Balanced launch with a path that has natural loft. Very physical bat. Launched balls to pull side in BP. Generates natural backspin. Power: Some of the more raw pop we saw. Put on a show in BP, leaving the yard multiple times to pull side. Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup. Run: 7.39 60-yard dash. Field: Frame and skill set play at first base. More lateral mobility and bounce to his step than you'd expect. Capable defender. Throw: 83 mph infield velo/more than enough strength for the first base position. Defensive Projection: 1B. Additional Comments: The bat is what is going to put college coaches in the stands. Very physical-left-handed stroke that will put on a show in BP and showed up in game. Ideal run producer profile who has all the tools to drive the ball with regular authority. Army transfer.
