Swing Mechanics: Uses a leg kick to initiate his load. Overall a lot of movement in the load. Has a very uphill bat path and overall a long swing.
Hit: Decent ability to find the barrel. Long swing makes it more difficult for him to ‘be on time’ but shows solid athleticism in his movements.
Power: 77 mph. Not much raw power, but gets a lot out his body because of the long nature of his swing.
Offensive Projection: To be determined. Lots of ways for him to improve. Currently somewhat one dimensional in his approach at the plate.
Run: 4.97 home to 1st
Field: Took good angles at 3B. Would like to see him a little more aggressive going after the ball, but he did show good hands and feel for his actions.
Throw: Showed good arm strength and carry across the diamond. 83 mph from 3B.
Defensive Projection: Solid actions and technique at 3B arm strength will need to continue to improve to stick at 3B at the next level, but shows enough athleticism and good enough hands to potentially play at 2B as well.
7/24/18 A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Goes with a leg kick for timing as hands flow back to launch. Barrel is rhythmic prior to launch. Nice, level stroke with natural whip through the zone. Offers a bit more strength than speed through the zone with both tools projecting as above average. Took a louder BP, displaying the ability to find the gap with authority. At third base he plays under control with easy actions. Hands are soft as he plays low through fielding sequence. Does a nice job of gaining ground prior to tossing it across the diamond with accuracy. Arm plays on the left side. On the mound the physical righty uses a slower tempo delivery with a chest high leg lift. Incorporates the lower half well and utilizes his body and frame well. Works through a near high ¾ slot with a short arm path. Fastball stays true through the zone at 76-78 mph. Curveball is true 12/6 breaker with gradual movement at 64-65 mph. Extremely efficient on this day inducing weak contact with both offerings. Home to 1st: 4.48 Infield Velocity: 82 Exit Velocity: 87
7/18/17 A 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect. Offensively, he is a right-handed bat that starts in a wider setup. Simple approach, slight hand back load during leg lift timing mechanism. Path has some natural loft and strength stands out through contact. Ball jumps off his bat with impressive pop for class. Swing plays best to opposite field gap. Middle of the lineup tools. In the infield he uses quick, direct footwork on plays in his funnel. Lateral mobility is fringy for the position. Hands are soft and glove works well outside his funnel.
