2/9/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Uptempo delivery with some effort. Generates a lot of momentum from the lower half. ¾ arm slot with solid armspeed. Fastball: Shows heavy arm side run at times. Ball jumps out of the hand and gets on quick. Fastball Spin Rate: 2020-2100. Slider: Sharp breaking ball with solid depth. When spotted up on the outer half, slider is tunneled very well creating much deception. Slider Spin Rate: 2069-2270. Changeup: Developing third pitch mix. Thrown with good arm speed and some fade. Pitchability: Overall great stuff. Slider is tunnelled very well with his fastball when thrown to the outer half.

Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound thin frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Smooth delivery with a tight arm action. Very efficient lower half. Fastball: 85-89mph. Average spin rate about 2,000rpm’s with mid to high 90% efficiency. Curveball: 73-75mph slider with 11/5 movement. Very sharp at times. Pitchability: Needs to be consistent in the zone. Body Type: 6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect with an athletic, long frame. Projectable pitchers frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Smooth tempo delivery while throwing through a 3/4 slot. Whippy, loose arm that displays good arm speed. Fastball: Fastball showed significant amount of arm-side run late in the zone. Sat between 84-87 mph but ran it up to 88-89 mph when emptying the tank. Commanded fastball consistently in the strike zone. Slider: 73-77 mph slider is his best secondary offering. Displays good feel keeping the slider in the zone. Sharp, late break that will definitely be a strikeout pitch. Changeup: 73-76 mph changeup is hit and miss with command. Tended to show better command for this pitch while in the stretch. Good arm speed and created significant fading action on the pitch when in the zone. Pitchability: Delivery can throw off command from time to time, but when he repeats his motion consistently he offers three more than adequate pitches. Role: Starter

Body Type: 6-foot-1, athletic frame with room to add. Athleticism: Above Average Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athletic delivery with a very loose/live arm. Delivery has some effort. Efficient lower half. Shows signs of more velocity to come. Fastball: 84-87 mph, Ball jumps out of hand and pitch is consistently in the zone. Heavy, heavy run making the pitch play up velocity wise. Has some swing and miss to it, especially on outer half. Changeup: 72-76 mph, An above average offering. Maintains arm speed with similar action to fastball but added dip. Pitchability: Above average. Had moments where he was out of the zone but he showed the ability to locate all three offerings in the zone at times. Role: Starter Additional Comments: Scholarship arm talent that has more to come.

6-foot, 155 pound right hander has a tall, lanky frame delivers from a deceptive motion. Baird provides good tempo and has good separation at hand break allowing him to get into a strong position at foot strike. FB sat 74-76 with some ASR and kept it low. CH showed good arm speed with decent downward break at 68-71 mph. Baird’s CB was 62-64 mph and spun well while also commanding it well. At times he looked to rush his delivery forcing his head to fly out and then lost some control, but he would then regather himself and come back with better stability and control afterwards. He has good size for his age and his strength will increase as he progresses.

Baird really stood out at the plate. The righty has obvious twitch to his hands with impressive bat speed through the zone. Pre launch movements are simple, allowing him to stay balanced throughout swing and create consistent timing. Produced natural ball flight to the middle of the field with gap to gap pop. In the outfield he played controlled to and one-handed through. Arm is loose and project for more strength. A corner type at this stage. 6-foot, 155 pound right hander has a tall, lanky frame delivers from a deceptive motion.
