9/24/17
At the plate he uses a back load during his short stride forward. Launches from a balanced position with a compact, level swing. Bat speed is an above average tool and strength is developing. A contact type guy with routine line drive capabilities. In the infield he takes direct routes to the ball using quick footwork. Tends to play from heels inside his funnel. Actions are more athletic on the move, showing above average lateral mobility. Looks to be a second baseman type. On the mound the right-hander has good pace to his lower effort delivery. Offers a fastball/breaking combination while working through a high-¾ slot. Fastball stays straight through the zone at 72-75 mph. Breaking ball has sweeping action across the plate at 60-62. The offering acted as his out pitch.

5-foot-8, 130-pound prospect. At the plate the he Zane starts in an athletic setup from the right side. He uses minimal load before his short stride forward and takes an uphill path to the ball. As he matures he will need to learn how to incorporate more of his lower half throughout his swing sequence. Registered a top exit velocity of 63 mph. In the outfield he took direct routes to the ball and showed confidence in his glove. Could get more out of his crow hop. Threw to home plate with 60 mph arm strength and ran an 8.57 60-yard dash. Pitched from a high ¾ arm slot and long arm action. Turns in prior to delivery while showing the ball early. Fastball 63-67 mph with good late sink, 51-53 mph sweeping 51-53 mph curve and 48 mph sinking change up with good arm deception.
