1/26/20

1/25/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: It's hard to believe we were watching the same guy we saw at this time last year. Luke has added obvious physicality and everything has cleaned. 6-foot-4 frame that has gone from 160-pounds to 190 in the off season. A guy who has turned himself into a real prospect heading into 2020.
Fastball: Ball comes out well. Heavy pitch. Much more to come considering movement profile and a frame that will continue to support added strength. 83-85 mph presently which is almost a 10 mph jump since we saw him last.
Fastball Spin Rate: 2180-2230.
Curveball: Above average offering. Spins it well. Sharp, quality action.
Curveball Spin Rate: 2400-2410.
Changeup: Impressive stuff was, a bit erratic command wise.
Pitchability: Filled it up with fastball/breaking ball.

2/2/2019 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-3 170-pound prospect.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot with a ‘tall and fall’ type of delivery.

Fastball: 74-78 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone.

Breaking Ball: 67-69 mph breaking ball showed slurvey shape with average spin.

Changeup: 70-71 mph changeup was mostly true with minimal action.

Pitchability: Pretty good feel for his three pitch mix.

Role: Should be a guy who develops more velo as he grows into his frame. Secondary offerings were both average with the breaking ball presently showing more potential than the changeup.

2/2/2019

Body Type: 6-foot-3 170-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Has a balanced setup and uses a toe tap load. Shows decent barrel control and an uphill bat path.

Hit: Good bat to ball ability and fairly strong hands.

Power: 74 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection:
Current raw power would limit his offensive upside to that of a gap to gap guy. Gaining physical strength will be crucial going forward.

Field: In the infield he attacks the ball and tries to take good angles through the ball but his current footwork impedes that a bit. Good hands.

Run: 7.85 60 yard dash.

Defensive Projection: Shows good instinct and actions. Improving his physicality and quickness will help him stick in the infield at the next level.

2/3/18

6-foot-2, 145 pound has a thin frame with a straight over the top arm action. Luke has good tempo in his delivery but it can improve which could lead to a more fluid motion and release of the ball. He did an excellent job getting extended down the mound generating some good momentum and energy into his throws. Luke’s FB sat 71-73 mph and was kept within the zone often throughout his outing. CB 68-70 with good break, but command was okay and he can improve it by loosening his grip as he throws. Lean body has good room for growth over the next few years. A third baseman whose frame matches the position. Feet are quick and he displayed developing ball skills. Would be aided by creating more efficient angles with his feet to maintain momentum through fielding. Arm is loose and will likely add much more strength as he fills out his projectable frame. At the plate the lefty is a contact type with more to come as he adds strength. Hands move back during his short stride for timing. Path is level with some lag in there. Natural tools are developing. Showed feel for squaring up the baseball. Far from his ceiling at the plate and can easily see him being a middle of the lineup type down the road.

60-yard dash: 7.94

Infield Velocity: 68

Exit Velocity: 79
