2/10/18
5-foot-9, 175 pound right handed pitching prospect throws from an over the top slot with shorter arm action. Schweiger did a nice job staying connected throughout his delivery while also maintaining an even tempo. His fastball at 75-77 had arm side run to it and located it effectively. Developing curveball at 62-66 mph had slight break to it. Changeup was 63-66 mph. Gets downhill well but still has potential left untapped from his lower half to provide more power. In the outfield he uses controlled footwork in his approach. Uses a pro step for momentum and transitions well into his throws. Arm plays above average strength wise but accuracy was inconsistent. A right-handed hitter at the plate. Goes with a bat tip movement to get his upper half going during his leg kick timing mechanism. A back leg hitter that takes an uphill path to the baseball. Would be aided by launching form a more balanced position to level out path. A contact type guy who can produce backspin to his opposite field gap.
60-yard dash: 7.18

Exit Velocity: 78

A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. A back leg hitter that takes an uphill path to the baseball. Swing shows above average bat speed with some strength to his hands. Generates some barrel whip through the zone. Line drive type guy in general. Shows good instinct in the outfield. Plays with confidence and aggression through fielding. Ball skills are on parr for class. On the bump the right-hander works through a near over the top slot, offering a higher effort delivery. Arm has some looseness to it with developing arm speed. Looks to have more velocity in there, currently sitting 78-80 mph. Breaking ball shows gradual break on an 11/5 plane 60-64 mpg. Changeup showed heavy run and dive at times, coming in anywhere between 66-68 mph. Has the arm talent just needs to be in the zone more consistently.
Home to First: 4.54
Outfield Velocity: 84
Exit Velocity: 78

On the mound the right-hander has good tempo to his lower effort delivery. Goes with a high leg lift prior to getting in his drop and drive load. Lower half creates solid direction and efficient energy. Displayed developing arm speed through a high-¾ slot. Worked mostly arm side with his 76-79 mph fastball showing occasional run. Changeup is near fastball arm speed with fade at 64-65. Still developing feel for the pitch. The better of the two secondary offerings on the day was his 11/5 shaped curveball. The offering has big break with developing sharpness at 59-62 mph. A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Barrel starts flat before getting to a vertical setup at launch. A back leg hitter with an uphill path to the baseball. Strength stands out through the zone, generating gap pop. Would like to see him level out path to let his natural tools show more consistently. Potential to be a run producer down the road. In the outfield he looks fluid getting to the baseball. Actions are smooth and ball skills fit the position. Mechanically sound in general with feel for the spot.

Outfield Velocity: 81
Exit Velocity: 80

Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Lower half is smooth and simple, using a controlled stride for timing. Bat launches from a vertical position, whipping through the zone on a slightly uphill path. Strength stands out as his top tool at the plate. Ball jumps when he finds the barrel, with swing playing best to opposite field gap. Recorded an exit velocity of 77 mph. In the outfield he plays with confidence and bounce to his step. Fields through the ball cleanly and maintains momentum into his throws. A solid all-around defender. Threw to home plate with 79 mph arm strength.
