Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: 6-foot-6, 240 pounds; Muscular, broad shouldered build. 7.28 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Shifts weight effectively while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a late one hand finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 97 MPH via Trackman. Power bat can barrel the ball to any part of the field.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while quick first step. Hands are off to the side with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 71 MPH. OF - 72 MPH. In the infield, Miller plays low to the ground and fields with an extended glove arm. From there, he transfers smoothly and throws from a similar arm slot as he does from the outfield.
6/30/21
Physical: Well-developed, advanced, XL 6-foot-6, 240lb frame. 7.30 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, slightly open stance at a narrow start as the hands operated camly at the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang to stretch and initiate the bat head through a slightly uphill, efficient path. Lots of strength in the lower half and found leverage at the front of the plate while hitting into a stiff/firm front side. The top hand worked palm up throughout the swing, lifting the baseball for distance to the pull-side (362 foot max batted ball via Trackman). Maxed out at a T99 mph bat-exit velocity along with an impressive 56% hard hit rate during his round; true middle of the order type bat.
Defensively: The outfielder featured adequate footwork, reading the ball while staying behind with a moderate/higher posture. A soft glove hand played low to the ground, bending at the waist and funneled cleanly to the chest. High ¾, accurate release to the target over the front-side (74 mph arm).
