A former member of the Canadian National Team, Gomm ranked as the second-best shortstop prospect and No. 4 overall prospect in Ontario's 2020 high school class. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has the tools to stick as a shortstop with range, actions, instincts and arm strength that all project well at the pro level. Gomm's plus speed gives him another impact tool, and while he's not overly physical, there is some juice in his right-handed bat.
11/27/19
6-foot-1, 185-pounds, evenly proportioned build with baseball strength and athleticism. Solid infielder who will stick on the left-side, actions are smooth, positions himself well, clean transfers, accurate throws with some zip. Internal clock and feel for the shortstop position. Recently ran a 6.79 60. Smart base-runner. Aggressive approach at the plate, flashes pull-side power, works gap-to-gap. Looks to hit early in the count, can hit a fastball. Will battle with two-strikes. He puts together good at-bats. Solid player who plays the game smart and hard. San Jacinto commit.
6/29/17
Gomm is a 5-foot-11, 179-pound right-handed prospect from the class of 2019. Two way prospect who also plays middle infield. Off the mound, works with smooth delivery and clean arm from 3/4 slot and is a strike thrower who can locate his low 80's fastball both sides of the plate while implementing his off-speed for strikes. Good feel with curveball and its 11/5 shape, sitting 68-70 mph with room to throw harder and create more late bite. Changeup repeats well off his fastball in the 70 mph range, shows athleticism on the mound. Defensively, smooth actions at shortstop, arm strength there to play left side of the infield, at times ball can get deep on him, athletic enough to make adjustments. At the plate, looseness to swing and has rhythm in swing. Gomm has chance to be one of the more coveted pitching prospects out of the province in his age class all while he continues to be a reliable two-way guy.
