Theal stands in a 6-foot-2, 150-pounds with a tall, athletic frame. Has a collegiate pitcher build with a strong lower body and efficient upper body mechanics that will get better with teaching. From the windup, Bardo sets up with his feet shoulder width apart in a relaxed position. Utilizes a short side step to start into a high leg raise above the hip crease. Creates good separation driving forward when his lead leg starts to move towards target while his arm gets good loose action into his release point just above the shoulder. Efficient hitting the strike zone keeping the ball low and hitting his target. Peak fastball was recorded at 86 MPH with a range of 82-84 MPH and does show small arm side run. Curveball has tight spin showing 12/6 action that can be thrown for a strike. Recorded 71-73 MPH. Change up shows good arm side sink at 75-76 MPH. Was consistent hitting secondary pitches for strikes and getting hitters to bite at the pitch. Overall a strong pitching prospect for the 2018 graduating class.

6-foot-1, 150-pounds. The 2018 grad is an intriguing body with length and height, to go along with a quick arm and and fairly clean mechanics. Theal worked downhill from right over the top and brought an 80 mph fastball, an 11/5 sharp breaking ball that was sharp when down, as well as a changeup at 70-72 mph. Has some quick twitch from the power position and is another kid who can improve significantly from gaining strength and weight. Look for Calum to be a few steps further along in his development his next time out, as he’s someone to keep an eye on.
