Depiero, in his second time off the mound was loose and easy with a quick arm in Kitchener. Very whippy arm, flexible and more to come from a velocity standpoint. Was 87 mph with his fastball, showed late life and some run to arm side. Curveball had good rotation and was clocked at 71 mph. Changeup varied from 71-76 mph, ability to repeat delivery will be key for Depiero. The arm works and he can spin it, the quickness, life, and looseness in his arm makes for Depiero, who is somewhat untapped here in Ontario, a prime candidate to breakout this spring. Could be potential draft guy and someone who scouts will want to follow.
6-foot-2 left-hander with live arm from low-3/4 arm slot. Fastball up to 87 with good life out the hand, ball really jumped on you. Deceiving and hid the ball well. Curveball had slurve action to it but showed some feel and threw for strikes. Interesting player who jumped on the scene from Thunder Bay in November. Has committed to West Virginia Wesleyan.
