10.22.17 - Jones had a solid day all around at the Fall Finale, the 2020 outfielder showed an easy and loose swing from the right side in BP, with rhythm in hands and a leg kick to load. He sprayed the ball up the middle with good hands to contact and a level swing that found the barrell. From the outfield, approach and footwork was clean, will add strength to throws as he matures but is athletic enough to be an above average defender when all said and done. A 2020 that will be one to watch heading into 2018.

Young and athletic outfielder, listed at 5-foot-6, 135-pounds for this 2020 grad. Jones was 4.59 from home to first from the right side with regular effort, can tell he will run and be a threat on the bases. Offensively, hits from wide stance with big leg kick, hands load back and up in sync with leg kick, line drive type of guy with an exit velocity of 79 mph, worked more to pull side, looking to get the head out and drive the ball. Defensively, moved through baseball well, smooth transfer and release, arm was loose with whip and quickness, had a velocity of 76 mph from the outfield. Reliable defender with speed and solid actions, a 2020 grad to keep an eye on as he matures and develops.
