Morris was an under-the-radar name at the Ontario Youth Team Tryouts in Oshawa last weekend and he was one of the standouts on the mound. It's a mid 80’s from the left-side topping out at 87.2 mph that got on hitters in a hurry with a tight SL and a fading CH. We last saw Morris at the Northern Games last summer, and his game has made a big jump. Look for Morris to make some noise on the mound during the 2023 season.
2024 left-hander Ethan Morris was the most polished arm on the mound at the Mariners Scout Day, joining us from Sudbury. Athletic look at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with a long, loose arm that works from a ¾ arm-slot. Morris sat 80-83 T83.8 with armside run and worked downhill with the top extension on the day. Offspeed stuff still developing but flashed its potential with a few tight sliders with more of a good cut action right now. One of the better upper class players we’ve seen this year from Northern Ontario.
