One of the top prospects in the ‘26 class that excels on both sides of the ball. Goncalves is a strong 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame that provides a fluid stroke from the right-side. Syncs up well with a relaxed approach in the box. Generated a peak exit velocity of 95.2 mph, an average exit velocity of 89.2 mph, a maximum distance of 347 feet, and a hard hit % of 50. Paired it with one of the top performances from behind the dish. He had posted one of the better pop-times on the day clocking in at 1.97 seconds. The talented right-handed hitting backstop out of the Fieldhouse organization is a name to check in on this summer.
Goncalves came down for his first event with us this week and did not disappoint. The Fieldhouse backstop posted some of the stronger exit velocities among underclassmen this week, reaching a peak exit velocity of 94.1mph and peak distance of 325ft. With a short stride to contact, hands work cleanly and remain in the hitting zone for a long time. Violent, snappy finish that generated backspun line drives. With physicality present in the 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame, Goncalves checks off a lot of boxes and should find himself a home amongst Ontario’s stronger 2026 catchers in future rankings. We look forward to seeing him on the summer circuit.
