2/20/17 Great size with current strength and muscle at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, Markotic shows lots of strength and raw power. Ran a crooked 7.02 which should end a few ticks quicker with a cleaner run. A toe tap load, great barrell awareness with very quick hands and impressive bat speed. Lots of pop, explosive at the plate, the ball bounces off the bat to a different sound. Not a lot of moving parts to his swing, with good hip rotation and a nice extension, exit velocity was 91 mph. Defensively, Markotic throws from ¾ slot, can look a little tight at times and loses carry on throws. Hands work and have feel for baseball. Should be one of the more interesting 2018 class prospects to watch in the province this upcoming season with his potential to damage with the bat. Strong follow for college coaches. 60-Yard Dash: 7.02 Exit Velocity: 91 INF Velocity: 77
6/23/15 5-foot-11, 168-pound prospect. Aggressive toe tap load that produces aggressive swing and quick hands through the zone. Works in a middle to opposite field approach with an 85 mph bat exit velocity. Excellent shortstop instincts with soft hands. Feet are patient and body moves well through throws to first base. Arm velocity was 74 mph.
4/4/15 Noticeably stronger, Markotic added 8 pounds since October and it looks to be all muscle. The 5-foot-10 athletic shortstop ran a 4.62 from home to first and improved his numbers dramatically over the winter. Velocity across the diamond was 79 mph from an easy 3/4 arm slot, arm action is clean. Shows quick lower half in the field, hands can soften up slightly but has all the makings to be a reliable defender up the middle of the diamond. Stays in control of body well. Offensively, creates good rhythm and timing at the plate. Hands show some quick twitch while Markotic doesn't get cheated and generates great bat speed. Exit velocity spiked up to 86 mph from 78 mph in October. Will be one of the top bantam players in the province this year.
10/26/14 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic build with room to physically mature. Young infielder with good actions. Moves well in lower half. Hands and feet both work, gets rid of the ball quickly. Top velocity across the infield was 70 mph from a loose, ¾ slot. More in the tank. Offensively, starts in open stance, good rhythm and separation for the young 2018. Bat path is short and quick, can get locked up on front leg at times. Exit velocity was 78 mph and 40 time was 5.06. Makings of a 2018 prospect.
