Now 6-foot-3, 187-pounds. Good looking left-hander who has good chance for velocity gains moving forward. Moves well on the mound with a loose arm action from clean 3/4 arm slot. Up tempo delivery, hides ball well with deception and a fastball in the low 80's and will gain more velo in time. Curveball shows rotation with 2/8 shape while changeup had fading action while mostly down in zone. Lots of upside for the 6-foot-3 lefty and is going to be a steal for some school who likes and wants to develop arms.
4/4/15
Sanders is a 6-foot-1, 153-pound lefty with an ideal pitchers body. Works from a clean 3/4 arm slot with some arm-side run to his fastball that was 77 mph. Easy to see Sanders adding velocity with maturity and strength gains. Also incorporates a curveball that was 63-65 mph and showed late break when extended. Worked his changeup in at 68-71 mph, was straight change that he threw for strikes when release point was out front. Makings of a solid lefty with lots of room to grow and add velocity. Long arms and levers, Sanders makes it tough for hitters to pick up ball, getting late swings while he fills the zone with three pitches for strikes. Projectable lefty with lots of upside, don't sleep on the 2018 grad who will be a solid addition to the right school.
10/26/14
6-foot-1, 140-pound left-handed pitcher with good tempo and rhythm. Arm works from a ¾ slot with good actions and arm speed. Front foot lands closed, hinders extension slightly. Fastball was 73-75 mph with some life, more in the tank. Curveball flashed sharp 1/7 shape with some bite when extended. Could be plus pitch down the road. Mixed in a straight change at 68-70 for strikes, kept arm speed. With continued development and physical gains, Sanders is a good-looking prospect for 2017.
