Stuart is a 6-foot, 182-pound athletic frame, who has been as high as 85 mph with his fastball, but consistently sits 81-82 mph. Martin shows good balance and a smooth and effortless arm action in his delivery, making his fastball jump on you that much more. Having good actions on all three pitches, his over the top arm slot produces a 11/5 shaped curveball at 66-67 mph and a 70-71 mph changeup with arm side fade. Stuart has made big strides from the winter where he was sitting 77 mph, making strides into the low and mid 80’s. Martin is a 2016 graduate.
10/26/14
5-foot-11, 180-pound strong build. Good tempo to delivery, actions were clean, arm works, lands flat on front foot and slightly across his body. Curveball was best pitch with 11/5 shape, late break with arm speed, was able to locate for strikes at 66-68 mph. Fastball was 76-80 with some sink and his changeup showed good arm-side fade, down in the zone at 70 mph. Projects well with Martin’s clean mechanics, velocity could jump with strong off-season.
