12/12/15 5-foot-8, 140-pound right-handed hitter takes a cut reminiscent of a cleanup hitter. Maring starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a heel raise stride to initiate his swing. The freshman stays behind the baseball well and works hard to fully engage his lower half and stay through the baseball with a bat exit velocity of 83 mph. Maring ran a 7.43 60-yard dash and flashed an accurate 76 mph arm across the diamond. He shows a quick release and the ability to play through the baseball. Maring would benefit by working to field the baseball further in front to allow his soft hands to work freely.
