7/22/15 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Pitched out of a three-quarter slot with chest-high leg kick. Fastball at 81-83 has consistent late run with occasional sink. Showed solid feel for his change-up at 71-72, while also incorporating a 1/7 curveball at 64-65 and a one-plane slider at 68-69. Struck out the side in his first inning of work, using three different offerings as the finisher.

2/15/15 Zimmerman pitches out of an over-the-top slot from a simple, compact delivery that begins with a short, forward rocker step. He employs a high leg kick and strides slightly closed, but maintains good direction toward the catcher. Zimmerman showed a feel for throwing strikes with four pitches. His fastball clocked in at 77-80, with his best bolts actually coming out of the stretch. He has a very good feel for his change-up (67-69) that is fairly straight with some sink. He also throws a slow 11/5 CB (63-66) with good shape and a slider that has similar action to the curveball, just with a little more velo (66-68) and a little shorter break.

6/18/14 Zimmerman is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound uncommitted junior that worked three innings, allowing three hits, while striking out three. The lefty sat 77-80 from a high 3/4 arm slot and high knee delivery with cutting action on his fastball. The high knee action allowed Zimmerman to create some deception with his 65 mph curveball that showed 1/7 rotation. Zimmerman has a solid build and appears to have more in the tank as his frame continues to mature.
