Physical: 5-foot-8, 145 pounds; Athletic build with room to grow. 7.13 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Tall with hands staying back ; lots of moving parts in his loading patterns but when simplified found barrels. Stays on his backside well; periodically finds himself too far on front foot causing ground balls with flat to downhill swing path; 10 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Mortier is able to produce 13.4 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 77%. Line drives and backspinned ground balls ; average Trackman exit velocity of 81.29 MPH; peak exit velo was 87 MPH. Defensively: Walks into setup into athletic positioning; works around the ball to accelerate transition . quick transfer from glove hand to throwing motion; quick arm path which creates advantage in close plays. INF - 84 MPH. Pitching: Simple delivery with minimal extra moving parts; can create better hip shoulder separation with delayed shoulder rotation . Long arm action through back swing but stays on top of the ball well and explodes through release. FB: T 81 MPH, 79-80 MPH. Arm side run; average 9.1" of movement with a peak spin rate of 2062. CB: 68-70 MPH. Pitch profile reads more of a slider with heavier horizontal movement rather than a true curveball; average spin of 1950 RPM. OTHER: split- 71-74 MPH. Flashes a splitter at 71-74 that had true downward action that can cause swing and misses.

Physical: Lean / athletic 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame with feel for his body. 7.13 runner in the 60-yard dash. Offensive: RHH - Comfortable and loose in a slightly open, bent setup utilizing some hand rhythm in the stance with the hands starting high at the ear. Utilized a rock and stretch to load coupled with a knee knock stride to initiate his swing. Barrel worked through a slightly uphill path allowing for backspin on balls he swings at elevated in the zone and feel for some gap to gap prowess. Hit into a stiff and adjustable front side creating the ability to drive offspeed pitches in any quadrant where they are pitched. Registered an 87 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Defensive: SS - Played with short and quick, athletic movements in the middle allowing for confidence in the routes and advanced footwork. Lets the hands work softly out in front creating downhill momentum towards the target upon fielding. Showcased range to the glove side with ability to get the hips around it and made the play on the run with relative ease. Arm generated accurate throws coming through a high 3/4 slot with some whip on the front side. SS - 84 mph. Pitching: RHP - Utilized repeatability in the delivery working out of a controlled, fluid high 3/4 slot sitting 79-81 mph on the FB. Mixed in a 67-69 mph CB showing 11/5 & a 71-73 mph CH with good sell and occasional fade. Dropped in a quality 71-74 mph SPL for swing and miss to LHH; got nice tumbling action out of the zone.

Showcased a lean and athletic 5-foot-8, 145-pound frame with feel for his body and room to fill out as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a slightly open stance utilizing a knee-knock stride to initiate a fluid, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated a natural gap to gap approach during batting practice with quality barrel control. Recorded an 80 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.00 60-yard dash, showing off his athleticism. The primary shortstop featured solid footwork playing low to the ground creating momentum towards the target with regularity. A soft glove hand and smooth transfers yielded an accurate 81 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a quick and athletic, high ¾ arm-slot. Made the play on the run with ease using repeatable transfers and multiple arm-slots. The right-handed pitcher sat 77-79 mph out of a slow-tempo, compact high ¾ delivery. Mixed in a 67-69 mph curveball with tight 11/5 shape, playing well down in the zone. Countered with a 71-73 mph changeup thrown with quality arm-speed allowing for deception.
