Physical: The recent PITT-Bradford commit stands an XL 6-foot-4, 225lbs. 8.18 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, bent stance at shoulder-width as the hands operated with some rhythm at a 45. Utilized a lift-and-replace stride to initiate the hands through an extended, whippy, flat path into the hitting zone. Stayed behind the ball with turns over the rear hip, finding good leverage at the front of the plate. Made it a point to not roll the wrists, creating a lofty approach during his round from the middle of the field to LF line (36% fly ball rate via Trackman). Posted a 90 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak en route to a 314 foot batted ball distance and a middle of the order skillset.

Defensively: The primary first baseman showed off adequate footwork around the bag from a medium, upright base while bending at the waist. The glove hand worked softly and presented on time, funneling to the waist while getting hip/shoulders in-line to the target. Got rid with average pace from a medium, H ¾ slot on the release (accurate, 73 mph arm).

6/13/21

Physical: XL, large 6-foot-4, 225lb frame with some projection. 8.07 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide/balanced start with slightly-bent knees in the stance. Utilized a lengthy lift and replace stride out towards the pitcher creating stretch, allowing the hands to initiate through a flat/whippy path into the hitting zone. Heavy barrel generating a 50% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball and consistent, hard contact through the middle of the field. Stayed balanced and inside the legs, within himself over the course of his batting practice round. Posted an 89 mph bat-exit velocity with more in the tank to pull.

Defensively: The primary first baseman arrived on time to the baseball with a medium posture. Average range and a semi-soft glove hand presented out in front. Some feel to the first base side and can pick it in the dirt. Notched a 74 mph arm strength across the diamond from an accurate ¾ slot.

2/13/21

Physical: 6-foot-4, 225LBS. 8.32SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: RHH. Begins with some athletic bend in the knees and feet slightly wider than shoulder width. Hands begin up above shoulder and slightly move back during the load. Weight rocks into the rear leg as the lead leg does a simple up and down stride in which ground is gained towards the pitcher. Barrel path is slightly down through the hitting zone.

Defensively: Primary 1B. Shuffles around the bag and bends at the waist to field the ground ball. Both worked through and funneled the ground ball. Moves on the balls of feet and stays connected with the lower half when throwing. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot.

7/15/20

Physical: Large 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame with advanced physicality throughout. 8.19 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Crouched, even stance with the hands beginning with a short circular rhythm next to the ear. Utilized a leg-lift stride with weight shift into a stiff front side at impact. The hands worked through a violent, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone creating present bat speed and natural backspin to the pull-side. Showcased advanced hip shoulder separation in the box with ability to catch the ball out in front with regularity, sink into the lower half with ability to match plane early, recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 93 mph according to Trackman Baseball / max batted ball distance of 341 feet.

Defensively: The primary first baseman featured adequate feel around the bag, moderately low center of gravity with active footwork, fielded off of the middle of his body with a semi soft glove hand, accurate high ¾ slot across the diamond. INF - 74 mph

6/15/20

Physical: Strong and thick 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame with advanced physicality and feel for for his body.

Offensively: RHH. Crouched, balanced stance with the hands starting with rhythm at the shoulder and moving slightly backwards for launch along with a repeatable lift-and-replace stride. Present weight shift creates loud and hard contact at the front of the plate yielding consistent backspin to the pull-side gap. Barrel works through a slightly uphill path with high intent swings in the box allowing for an advanced 93 MPH bat-exit velocity during batting practice per Trackman Baseball.

Defensively: Demonstrated feel around the bag at first base with a moderately low center of gravity. Soft hands work out in front and smooth transfers allow for accurate throws across the diamond out of a high ¾ slot. Displayed some comfortability during double play repetitions in getting back to the bag early. 1B - 74 MPH.
