9/9/15 Pitched from a three-quarter slot with some front arm swim. Threw 2- and 4-seam FB (both at 78-80) to both sides of the plate and 2-seamer had late armside run. Tight 1/7 CB was 67-70, while he showed an ability to work both sides with that pitch as well.

7/20/14 Malone is a 6-foot, 170-pound sophomore that has an advanced understanding of how to pitch. He sat 77-78 from a 3/4 arm slot during four solid innings of work. Malone struck out six and allowed four hits while he pounded the strike zone and effectively kept hitters off balance with a 69 mph curveball that shows sweeping break. Malone hides the baseball well and has the ability to work both sides of the plate. His athletic frame and easy delivery indicates several velocity spikes are likely over the coming years.
5/10/14 Malone worked 75-77 from a 3/4 arm slot with cut action to his fastball. The freshman also displayed the ability to run his two-seam fastball at the same velocity. Malone relied heavily on his 68 mph curveball that has tight rotation with sweeping 1/7 shape. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound lefty has time to add to his athletic frame. Malone showed poise and command on the mound registering five strikeouts with two runs allowed over six innings of work.
