7/13/21

Physical: Lean, athletic, well-proportioned 5-foot-10, 175lb frame. 7.48 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Started slightly outside shoulder-width as the hands operated quickly at the shoulder. Utilized a small lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through a flat, direct path into the hitting zone. Worked flexed to extended in the swing, able to produce good lift on the baseball with extension out in front. Blocked off properly into a stiff front side, notching a T86 mph bat-exit velocity good enough for a 78% line drive rate (via Trackman) during his round. Quality feel for the barrel and was able to match pitch-plane early in ball flight. Top of the order type with minimal swing/miss in game.

Defensively: The middle infielder shifted around with choppy, active footwork and beat the ball to the spot with a soft glove hand. Could give at the fielding window, staying low and funneling with good pace in/out of the glove (77 mph arm, accurate). Demonstrated some feel on the double play with rhythmic actions.

6/13/21

Physical: Strong, even waisted 5-foot-10, 175lb frame with athleticism in the movements. 7.16 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced stance with the hands showing quick rhythm at the shoulder to start; utilized a short lift and replace stride and immediate barrel turn over the back hip through a flat path into the hitting zone. Mostly upright posture in the box and finished into a stiff front side. Liked to get extended/leveraged at the front of the plate finding his best results to the pull/LCF side of the park (86 mph peak exit/279 foot batted ball distance). Also notched an impressive 78% line drive rate which pointed to considerable barrel control, maturity in the approach.

Defensively: The primary middle infielder showed active footwork, skipping into the start with choppy, quick steps. Got around the baseball from right to left, approaching at a moderate posture at the fielding window. Slight glove tap or two before releasing from an accurate, high ¾ slot across the diamond with ability to go shorter “V-slot” for quicker releases (72 mph arm). Rangy defender that can handle the right side of the infield with no issues.
