6/13/21

Physical: Lengthy 5-foot-10, 180lb frame with a high-waisted build. 7.05 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Tall, balanced stance starting the feet at shoulder-width coinciding with rhythmic hands above the shoulder; utilized a stretched load just beyond the shoulder while getting to a wide attack from a quick toe-tap stride. The bat head worked through a flat path into the hitting zone with good connection in the swing. Produced plenty of hard line drive contact from line to line (40% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball) with likeable qualities at the plate. Proved to be a tough out during gameplay with good bat to ball skills and a short bat path into the strike zone. Notched an 89 mph bat-exit velocity during his batting practice round.

Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed good reads and a downhill, up-tempo approach with a soft glove hand off the left side of his body. Medium posture and beat the ball to the spot, reaching down to the ground and exchanging at waist-height. Over the top, accurate slot generating an 82 mph arm strength from his position.

2/13/21

Physical: 5-foot-10, 185LBS. Lean, athletic build. 7.51SEC 60-Yard Dash.

Offensively: RHH. Begins with feet slightly wider than shoulder width and balanced. Weight transfers back while working forward, utilizing a toe tap on the front side. Hands work into a strong load position, gaining the ability to work behind the baseball. High On Plane % making for lots of contact. Easy, fluid swing.

Defensively: Primary OF. Moves side to side well in order to create proper angles to the baseball. Long, strong arm swing producing a 78MPH throwing velocity. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and creates backspin on throws.

6/15/20

Physical: 5-foot-10, 180 pounds; Strong and athletic. 7.31 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Square; timing is late and complex with sinking into legs and loading his hands. Once he gets into his legs he stays in them and he’ll see the advantages; 10 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Higley is able to produce 5.9 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 76%.  Backside line drives as a result of timing being late; average Trackman exit velocity of 79.76 MPH; peak exit velo was 87 MPH.
Defensively: Tall and upright; hesitation before fully committing to working through the ball. shows an understanding and displays it at times; long throughout but is disciplined enough to repeat each time to result in accurate throws.  OF - 76 MPH.

2/29/20

Showcased feel for a physical and athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame with fluidity in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a wide, even stance utilizing a quick leg-lift to initiate his swing. Generated a twitchy, short barrel path into the hitting zone with weight shift while hitting into a stiff front side creating a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Demonstrated a gap to gap approach during batting practice while recording an 86 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. The primary outfielder displayed active feet, playing through the ball with regularity yielding downhill momentum towards the target. A soft glove hand and repeatable transfers allowed for an accurate 76 mph arm-strength from his position out of a high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate takeaway in the back.
