10/3/15 6-foot, 170-pound uncommitted senior sat 83-85 from a high 3/4 arm slot with a quick, loose arm. The athletic righty also displayed the ability to hold his velocity out of the stretch. Alaimo also showcased a 70 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation and a 72 mph changeup that is thrown at fastball arm speed with arm-side run. Alaimo's frame and athleticism project for additional velocity spikes moving forward.
10/3/15 6-foot, 170-pound uncommitted senior stood out as the top two-way prospect in attendance. Right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a leg-lift stride. Displayed very good balance and a feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 86 mph. Flashed a soft glove hand and good footwork with a quick release in the middle infield (84 mph arm strength). Athleticism and size would allow him to play multiple infield positions at the next level.
7/22/15 6-foot, 170-pound frame. Long, loose arm action, stays on-line to home plate well in athletic delivery. Fastball at 81-83 has a bit of life at the end. Threw fastball to both sides and when he missed, he missed down. Curveball at 70-71 was a little loose and slurvy early on, but sharpened up to his typical 11/5 action as the outing wore on. Mixed in an occasional change-up at 70-72 with good sell. Right-handed hitter started from a square stance with controlled leg lift to slightly closed. Kept his eyes level, maintaining good balance and using the middle of the field in BP. Ran a 7.11 60-yard dash and top in-game home-to-1B time of 4.46. Showcased 80-mph exit velocity and 84-mph arm strength during workout. Solid across the board defensively.
6/17/15 Pitched one inning, facing four hitters. Medium frame (6-foot, 170-pounds). Low three-quarter arm slot with whippy arm action that projects for additional velocity. Fastball sat 80-82, touching 84, while showing some late tail when thrown armside. Also featured an 11/5 curveball at 67-68 and occasional change-up at 69-70.
6/17/15 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitter. Hit from square stance utilizing a near-waist-high leg lift. High back elbow, takes direct path to baseball, repeats swing, used middle of field. Average in-game home-to-1B time of 4.65 (top of 4.47). Showcased 81-mph exit velocity and 75-mph arm during workout. Moved well defensively, fielded the ball deep, and showed an ability to make plays on the move, including a backhand gloveflip to start a 4-6-3 DP.
