Campus Series-St. Bonaventure (July 11, 2017)
Sebastian stands in a 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 4.41 home to first. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the back above the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick stride forward while his hands move back and down slightly to the hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing the hips and getting the whole-body frame involved in the swing. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with an upward barrel lift throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated good plate coverage with potential gap to gap power. Clean, fluid swing with potential. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively- Good footwork and approach to the baseball. Moves well off the bag and can get into a proper fielding position to make the play. Funnels the ball into chest clean with a quick transition into the throwing position. Athletic footwork. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 76 MPH. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a quick leg raise before striding down the mound. Breaks down well with good separation into a high-¾ release point. Could use more of the lower half and have a stiff front side. Still gets good rotation and is set up in a good fielding position. Fastball range was 74-75 MPH with arm side run. Curveball range was 64-65 MPH with tight braking action.
