7/15/20

Physical: Strong and athletic 5-foot-11, 205-pound frame with advanced physicality in the lower half. 7.37 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH. Open stance with the hands resting idle on the shoulder as the back knee shows bend while holding a solid portion of the weight. Utilized a leg hang stride with stretch in the upper half creating a violent launch through a slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. The hands worked short to the ball initially while setting proper direction and then whip the barrel deep through extension, contacted the ball with consitency at the front of the plate while sinking into a strong lower half; a combination that allowed for a top bat-exit velocity of 99 mph according to Trackman Baseball and fireworks off of the bat head. Showed a natural feel for the middle of the field but launched balls particularly well to the LCF gap. Notched a max batted ball distance of 313 feet.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured solid receiving abilities with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times ranged from a 2.08-2.13 out of a medium-low crouch, got directional with quick feet, above average catch and throw skills out of a high ¾ slow with a short arm circle / accurate throwing arm. Beat the ball on either side of the plate while blocking getting the glove hand in the dirt early and often.

Pitching: RHP - Imposing mound presence, slow side rocker step with below average pace throughout the delivery, medium leg lift with minor hip coil at the top of the stack, lands directional towards the plate while getting over a sturdy front side. High ¾ slot with a full arm circle, FB ranged from 83-87 mph with a max spin of 2284 per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in a sharp 73-75 mph CB with late depth and solid 11/5 shape. Countered with a low spin 74-76 mph CH with above average feel and occasional swing and miss tendencies for LHH.

2/22/20

Physical: 5-foot-11, 205-pounds. Strong, physical build.  4.51 home-to-1B.
Offensively: RHH. Bent at the knee’s stance, feet shoulder width apart, hands tight with bat sitting on the back shoulder, Large leg kick into simple load action Upward swing path, strong hands through the zone and at the point of contact. Power approach, line drives pull side and middle of the field. 89 MPH raw exit velocity.
Defensively: 2.00-2.02 pop times. Wide base, upright stance, smooth footwork and ball transfer, accurate and powerful throws around the bag. Quick release, mid 3/4 arm slot. C - 75 MPH.
Pitching: Hands go up with a high leg lift and turn, they stay in sync as he strides down and out, glove arm gets out and up with shoulder tilt before finishing against a strong front leg at foot strike for a balanced follow through. Long, easy effort arm action to a high 3/4 release. FB: T86, 83-84 MPH. Heavy; pounds the bottom of the zone but can also elevate when needed. CB: 73-75 MPH. Late, sharp break with 11-5 shape.  CH: 74-76 MPH. Fades down to the arm side.
