Defensively: Starts a bit more upright with a wide base and in an athletic position to get out of the crouch and pick off would-be base stealers. He showcased a 69 mph arm behind the dish and popped a 2.00-2.08 on his throws to 2B.
2/29/20
Demonstrated feel for a physical 5-foot-10, 220-pound frame with athleticism and ease in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate an easy, slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Generated natural hand speed through a short stroke, allowing for repeatable backspin to all fields during batting practice. Showcased one of the top rounds of the day with advanced barrel control while hitting into a stiff front side. Recorded an 89 mph bat-exit velocity and one of the top overall rounds of the day. Ran an impressive 7.12 60-yard dash for his frame. The primary backstop showed off adequate receiving skills with minimal glove and body sway at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.03-2.12 on accurate 76 mph throws from the crouch out of a short, high ¾ arm-slot using repeatable and quick straight line footwork. Featured comfortability while blocking, beating the ball to the spot and creating soft walls on both sides of the plate yielding recovery ability. The infielder played low to the ground with soft hands out in front allowing for an accurate 71 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
