Notes

Comments

9/15/18 Defensively, as middle infielder shows adequate hands and solid range. There is tendency to play the ball deep and work top down. Transfer and arm action are clean on throws of 70 mph across the diamond.
Offensively, 6-foot-1 190 pound right-handed hitter, initiates swing from open setup with aggressive leg kick and stride to neutral. Excellent separation is achieved in weight shift away from hands. Back elbow is active in working up and back in load. Hands start high, work down and then again back up in load. Bat path is steep into zone. Ability to achieve backspin was evident in BP with present pull side power demonstrated. A bat exit velocity of 88 mph was recorded.
On the mound, Bloom worked out of a high 3/4 arm slot featuring a repeatable, moderate effort delivery. Fastball sat 75 mph while being true and thrown at effective downhill plane. Slider at 66-69 mph and curveall at 59 mph had similar 11/5 shape and rolling action. Change up at 65 was thrown with good sell and subtle arm side fade.
