Boyer is 6-foot-5, 205-pound RHP/1B from Greensburg-Salem HS. He sits in the low 80's with a very projectable frame. Boyer went 5-3 with 69 strikeouts in 52 IP in 2013.

11/2/13 Boyer is a 6-foot-5, 205-pound righty that sat 83-84 from a high 3/4 arm slot with plenty more in the tank. He also showed solid command of three complimentary pitches. Boyer commanded a 72 mph curveball with 11/5 rotation, a 76 mph changeup at near fastball arm speed and a 73 mph splitter that shows diving action. Boyer has some shortness to his delivery that could be adjusted to allow for additional velocity.

10/19/13 Boyer sat 82-84 out of a high 3/4 arm slot with late life to his fastball. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound prospect has a very projectable frame and the potential to add significant velocity. Boyer's 72 mph curveball showed 11/5 break at 72 mph and his 72 mph splitter showed the potential to be a quality out pitch. Boyer has the chance to be a sleeper in this class. With some work to lengthen out his throwing motion he could continue to see velocity gains for some time.
