Futures Preview South – NJ (June 4th, 2017)
Caruso has a sturdy build at 5-foot-10 180-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.46 seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 78 MPH. At the plate, LHH starts in a wide, slightly opened stance with hands close to back ear and above back shoulder. As pitch comes in, uses a leg kick and stride to start swing. Hands load down minimally. Creates some extension to the baseball to produce power. Defensively – recorded pop times between 2.22–2.31 and throws were clocked at 70 MPH on the bag with backspin. Footwork is sound and plays through his throws well to 2B. Expect pop time to continue to improve as he gets stronger.
