8/03/21

Physical: Advanced, strong 6-foot, 200lb frame with proportional feel. 7.18 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Crouched, slightly open stance with the barrel bouncing in rhythm on the shoulder. Utilized a toe tap stride, landing at a wider attack and initiated the bat head through a flat, heavy path into the hitting zone. Maintained good posture behind the ball, turning over the rear hip for solid depth in the swing. Generated loud contact at the front of the plate with connection available, posting a 46% line drive rate (via Trackman) and a 380 foot max batted ball distance to pull (home run juice). Easy middle of the order considerations and recorded a T97 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak with bat-speeds into the upper 70’s.

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a calm, controlled operation from left-knee down receive with minimal glove-hand movements at the catch. Pop times ranged from 2.02-2.05 with on-time, fluid directional footwork to the target and a quicker, low ¾ release (75 mph arm). Seasoned blocker as well with a large frame and down angles.

7/23/19

5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showcased quick hands with a direct swing path and a tendency to cut off his lower half. Potential for consistent power in his swing with work to clean up the lower half. Registered a bat exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 7.59 60-yard dash. Displayed sound receiving skills with quick feet and a clean transition on pop times of 2.21-2.32 with 70 mph arm strength out of the crouch. Definite early follow in this class.
