5/9/14 Quinn is a big-bodied left-handed hitter with simple approach at the plate. Went 3-4 on the day, barreled up all three hits. Both hits vs 82-84 RHP were to the pullside (single in 4-hole and double to right-center), while he took a nice, easy swing vs 86-89 RHP and slapped a single down the left field line.
4/5/14 Quinn started game one for Malvern. He worked 77-78 and touched 80 with his FB from an over-the-top slot. The pitch had occasional cut action that he used to jam right-handed hitters. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder struggled with his 64-65 CB early on, but got a better feel for the pitch and its 11/5 action as his outing progressed.
2/16/14 Quinn is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound lefty that showed an up tempo delivery out of an over the top arm slot. The junior showed command of a three pitch mix. Quinn's curveball showed the potential to be an out pitch with varying degrees of break, with 12/6 rotation and late down break when he stayed on top of the pitch. The lefty will need to continue to develop his changeup that currently lacks significant movement.
2/15/14 Quinn is a left-handed hitting 1B that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hands load. He barreled the baseball frequently during his round of batting practice showing the ability to use all fields with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound junior showed a soft glove hand and good footwork around the bag at 1B with accurate throws of 80 mph across the diamond. Quinn also registered a 4.55 home-to-1B time.
