Offensively, 5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitter initiates swing from slightly open with heel raise and no stride staying open. Weight shift is passive followed by an aggressive hip turn. Hands are loose and work directly to the baseball. Barrel feel is demonstrated with squaring of multiple balls during round of BP. a bat exit velocity of 85 mph was registered.

Although weight shift is somewhat passive, Yough is aggressive rotating away from hands, thereby, achieving some separation. Defensively, actions are similar to those summarized below as seen on 6/20/17. Overall, Yough displays the makings of a solid defender. However, the need to attack and play through ball more aggressively remains.

Yough maintains his posture well while hitting off a firm front side. Overall swing is mechanically sound and played as such in BP with ball being consistently barreled.
Defensively, there was tendency to sit back on baseball. Hands are adequate and transfers are clean. Yough would benefit from attacking and playing through ball more aggressively.
