Cortez turned in one of the premier offensive performances of the event. The right-handed hitter averaged nearly 90 mph exit velocity while reaching 99 mph, producing some of the loudest contact of the day. His swing generates present bat speed with the ability to drive baseballs to all fields.
Defensively, Cortez backed up the offensive showing with an 88 mph infield arm that ranked among the strongest at the event. The combination of impact offensive production and plus arm strength gives him one of the more complete position-player profiles in attendance.
