Synsere Fernandes: OF/2B, (2022) Bishop Hendricken, RI. 5-foot-8, 170-pound mature frame. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. (65.53 mph bat speed average). (19.90 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Has a rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up some balls throughout his round. Up the middle approach. Capable from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 61 mph; had sure hands, a clean exchange, and consistent footwork. Throws from a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.8.  (Max spin ; Avg ).

Starts in a wide stance with a compact load, then uses a controlled stride. Had average bat speed, flat swing plane and level finish. He barreled up some balls with loud contact. Line drive approach. Athletic in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 73 mph; has a clean exchange, soft hands, and athletic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a consistent arm action with a high ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag.

5-foot-8, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. He ran a 7.8 sixty at the event. The approach in the outfield is athletic and he moves his feet through the catching of the baseball. He threw 71 mph during the outfield portion of the defensive workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 74 mph. The setup is wide and he uses a toe tap as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is long to contact, and he shows a 1-handed finish after contact with the baseball. The frame needs to add strength to it as he matures in age.

5-foot-8, 160-pound utility type player. Ran a 7.94 sixty on the laser at the event. The approach in the outfield is athletic and aggressive. Profiles as a corner outfielder, threw 74 mph. Showed good routes during game play. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 72 mph. The setup is wide in base, bottom half under control during the swing. The bat has a small amount of bat wrap to start. The path has length to it. The hands work clean and he shows an approach of staying inside the ball at contact.

5-foot-7, 150-pound, smaller, stronger athletic frame for his age and size. A right-handed hitting outfielder, at the plate, stance is slightly open, hands set lower with a tilted bat. The hands and weight are loaded up, has separation from stride foot, gets back to even. The swing is short and crisp to contact, down to level path. Finishes the swing with two hands at shoulder height. The approach is more middle to pull side, producing one line drive after another. At times gets out of front foot could stay behind the baseball a tick longer. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 70 mph and ran a 4.48. Defensively, threw 72 mph from the outfield, footwork is advanced, steps through hard gains ground, clean quick transfer. The arm actions is short and quick, arm works from a higher slot, works with easy effort. Athletic young player look for him to hit at some point.

5-foot-7, 150 pounds, average athletic build and proportions, some thickness in the lower half, slope to the shoulders, looks like a ballplayer. Ran a 8.18 sixt yard dash. A right-handed hitter, Fernandes works from an open stance, with loose, fluid hands at shoulder height. Strong hip rotation through contact. Bat path can get a little uphill. Middle pull approach during batting practice, ability to hit the left-center gap. Fernandes posted a tee exit velocity at 76 MPH. Worked out as an outfielder, where he profiles best in a corner for now, but showed fluidity and reads of the bat for center field if the footspeed makes gains. Athletic movements, good crow hop on throws getting body into it. The arm was clocked at 65 MPH with some carry, throwing from a high ¾ slot. Fundamentally sound. Fernandes showed some feel with the bat, with fluidity in the hands that promise ability to develop the hit tool against high school pitching. Lots to like in this outfield prospect.
