3/20/24
Cade Batchelor (2024, Maryville) Batchelor, a former Prep Baseball Future Games participant in 2023 and Belmont signee provided the majority of the Rebels offense on a night where the bats were cold. The super athletic 3B went 1/1 with a single, RBI sac fly and a walk. The sub 7 runner who has been 91 across the infield will continue to be a producer for the rebels in the cleanup spot all season where he should hit for a high average with ability to run into his fair share of homeruns.
6/21/22

Uncommitted two-way prospect. Athletic, lean frame w/ strength at 6-0, 175. Balanced stance w/ strong setup. Generates above avg bat speed w/ whip in the barrel & middle approach. Heavy dose of line drives and some thump (T 94.9; Avg: 85.2 exit veto). Defensively, sound actions up the middle w/ great arm strength (91 INF Velo) and 6.97 sixty. On the bump, low 3/4 slot w/ quick arm. Heavy FB at 81-85 w/ low spin and slurvy breaking ball at 67-68.

1/29/22

6 feet, 183 pounds with a lean frame and some lower half strength. He showed his two-way ability at the East Tennessee Preseason ID. At the plate, he is tall and balanced in his set-up with high hands and a small leg kick. He generates advanced bat speed with an uphill plane and consistent timing, leading to hard contact. He takes a middle to pull approach with a lot of line drives. Defensively, he has solid footwork with soft hands and great arm strength (90 mph). On the mound, he has a simple delivery with tempo and a quick arm, working from a 3/4 slot. The fastball sits 84-86 with carry and life around the zone. He mixed in a slider at 70-74 with 10/4 shape and flashes of a put away pitch.
