1/15/18 - 60 Time: 7.47, Position Velocity: OF-76, Exit Velocity: 70
5-foot-9, 185-pound, LHH showed improved physicality from last look. Short, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, developing upper half strength. Offensively, hits from a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location. Bit of a knee to knee thigh high leg kick w/ short hand load. Good bat path w/ slight uppercut plane and better bat speed than exit velocity suggests. Some struggles with timing on this day w/ the ball getting in too deep. Defensively, moves well in the outfield, can use legs better on his throws, which will allow his arm strength to play up. Projects in left field.
1/16/17 - 60 Time: 7.28, Position Velocity: OF-76, Exit Velocity: 82
5-foot-9, 160-pound, LHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance with relaxed hands, uses a shorter conventional stride with a push back of his hands to get loaded, lower half gets through and seems strong but can over-rotate at times, bat path is very consistent and flat through the zone, solid middle-oppo approach with the ability to hit it anywhere. Defensively, showed above-average hands and footwork in the outfield, played through the ball, exchange used a glove pat and an extra step, arm action was shorter and came through a high ¾ slot.
1/18/16 - 5-foot-8, 141-pound left-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance and uses somewhat of a small and rhythmic leg kick to get himself going, showed smooth hand load and sufficient use of the lower half, short and compact swing results in a line drive approach that you would expect from a leadoff or nine-hole type of hitter, 69 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, Allen showed very good hands and feet in the outfield, smooth approach to the ball and ability to work through it were present, funky arm action from a high-3/4 release point produced a 73 mph position velocity. Exit velocity, position velocity, and 7.53 60-yard dash should all improve dramatically over time and development.
