6-foot-0, 200-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and open stance with some loose movement in his hands before the pitch, uses an abbreviated but smooth leg lift and stride with a subtle movement back and a quietening of his hands to get loaded, lower half gets wide and strong and clears his hips with some explosiveness, swing plane stays through the zone for a long time and showed some lift at the end, drove the ball in BP with some gap power.  Defensively, showed good hands and quiet feet behind the plate, got in a good position and a clean exchange led to a short arm action through a high ¾ slot, throws were accurate.  A highly regarded unsigned senior.

6/23/15 - The 6 foot, 185-pound prospect posted a 4.87 home to 1^st time and had a 78 mph position velocity from behind the plate. Defensively Carroll has soft hands,receives the ball well, has fluid footwork, has a clean exchange, short arm action and  good arm strength. Carroll showcased 1.87-1.94 pop times. Offensively Carroll has good bat speed from the right side. Carroll hits from a balanced setup, has a short stride, uses his lower half, has good balance, has an aggressive approach, is a gap to gap type hitter. Went 0-for-4 during game play making hard outs on a few occasions.

2/7/15 - The 6 foot, 185-pound C/3B ran a 8.05 60 yard dash time and showed 78 mph position velocity from the infield and a 75 mph position velocity from behind the plate, Defensively behind the plate Carroll had 2.01-2.13 pop times, showed good skills receiving, blocking, and had a clean exchange. In the infield Carroll showed soft hands and natural instincts, needs to improve on his footwork and working through the ball. At the plate Carroll has an open setup with a short stride, showed average bat speed with a 77 mph exit velocity off of the tee, has a short and compact stroke that produces line drives with gap to gap approach.

11/1/14 - 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect with good size. Has a quiet approach at the plate, open stance, smooth load, short stride, slight head movement, short, uphill swing that generates lift, good extension through the zone, shows power potential, was 0-for-4 in game play with a noticeable round of batting practice. Uses ¾ arm slot, short arm action, 75 mph arm velocity, 2.03-2.13 pop time, had a pick-off on first base during game play. 2017 with some projectability.
