9/18/16 - 60 Time: 6.98, Position Velocity: IF-84, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-3, 175-pound, RHH hits from a balanced and slightly open stance with his hands beginning just above his shoulder, uses a short and early stride along with a movement back and up with his hands to get loaded, lower half gets through but pulls him up to a taller position, could create some serious leverage with more engagement of lower half, swing plane begins steeply but seems to flatten out and provide some lift at the end, hit balls hard to RCF and up the middle, athletic kid produces good bat speed with low effort. Defensively, showed good hands and footwork at the corner and played around and through the ball very smoothly, gather and exchange took a step but led to strong throws across the infield with accuracy through a high ¾ release point.
9/18/16 - Max FB: 84, FB: 81-84, CB: 65-68, CH: 72-73,
6-foot-3, 175-pound, RHP uses a very unique motion that is rare and hard to replicate, rocker step is nothing more than a turn of the foot that leads directly into his leg lift and load, hands start and remain high throughout his leg lift as he seems to be fully loaded at the top, leads with a closed from side, seems to be coming home when he pauses as his lead leg first comes down, creates some big shoulder tilt and brings his long arm through an over-the-top slot, lands slightly closed but maintains balance. Fastball was mostly straight but hit the corners, curveball showed 12/6 shape with some sharp movement through the zone, changeup showed the ability to fade or cut.
10/18/15 - 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed hitter with highly projectable, athletic frame, hits from an open stance and gets to square with a short stride, stays quiet with good balance throughout swing, average bat speed, shows occasional flashes of power, 73 mph exit velocity off the tee, hit well in game play going 2-for-4 with singles to left and center field, ran 4.76 down the line. Shows good hands defensively, above average lateral movement, short ¾ to high-3/4 release, average arm strength at 75 mph velocity across the infield.
On the mound, 6-foot-3, 175-pound RHP with projectable frame, arm action is long and works through an over-the-top slot, slight pause in delivery after reaching balance point, does a good job locating pitches at the bottom of the strike zone, fastball sat 76-78 mph, shows some feel for his 63 mph curveball with gradual 12/6 action, threw one 68 mph changeup with good arm speed, allowed two hits, walked one, and struck out two (both swinging on fastballs) in his two innings of work, settled in nicely to work a perfect second inning.
