5'11, 175-pound, LHH hits from an athletic and open stance and uses a leg kick and a reasonably long stride to get his lower body in a position to hit, hands start high and load backwards as his leg kick begins. Lower half participates, but sometimes causes him to lunge forward throw his balance off a bit, hands drag and pull the bat through the zone, swing is fairly flat and has the ability to produce some hard line drives when he stays behind the ball throughout. Defensively, approached the ball under control and showed sure hands and a clean exchange, would like to see him be a little quicker in his actions, used a long and loose arm action from an over-the-top arm angle to get the ball in with some accuracy.
6/14/16 - Max FB: 82, FB: 79-82, CB: 69-71, CH: 75-76,
5'11, 175-pound, LHP uses a very controlled and mechanical motion that gets him to a very high point at its peak, leg lift gets him to the top of his delivery and allows him to explode toward the plate, strides a little bit closed but is athletic enough to get over that front side, works through a high ¾ slot with loose arm action and seemed very polished for a 2019 grad, delivery showed a lot of effort and pulled him toward the 3rd base side on his finish. Fastball didn’t have a ton of movement but was painted on the corners against right-handed hitters, struggled to find the zone against lefties for some reason, curveball showed 1/7 action with gradual movement through the zone, changeup was his best off speed pitch as it showed good sink and was thrown for strikes with sink through the zone. Rauhuff showed a big velo jump since his last PBR event.
10/25/15 - The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect works through an over the top arm slot with loose arm action and shows good pitchability for age, fastball sat 74-75mph and topped out at 76 with occasional arm-side run, works the fastball consistently at the bottom of the zone, showed a solid curveball with 1/7 break and good depth. The young prospect has a solid foundation and is definitely a lefty to keep a close eye on in the 2019 class. Rauhuff gave up one hit and had one strikeout in two innings pitched during game play.
As a position player, posted a 7.30 60 time and had a 78 mph positon velocity from the outfield. Defensively Rauhuff shows long arm action with a high-3/4 release, some accuracy, slightly above average arm strength for age, plays through the ball on the ground with a two-handed approach. Offensively Rauhuff shows average bat speed from the left side and had a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. Rauhuff hits from an open setup with a leg kick trigger, uses his lower half, has good overall balance, line drive type hitter with a mid to opposite field approach. Rauhuff went 0 for 3 during game play making contact in each at bat. Rauhuff will be a 2019 guy to keep an eye on as he develops.
