10/16/16 - Max FB: 79, FB: 78-79, CB: 64-66, 6-foot-1, 165-pound, LHP uses that same collected delivery we saw from him at the Underclass Games that includes a slight hitch at the top of his leg lift, gets his lower half engaged and explodes toward the plate with some effort at the end, arm action is fairly long and works through a high ¾ slot, finished balanced and under control. Wasn’t the sharpest we’ve seen him, but still showed big time potential with some sharp break to its 1/7 shape, fastball was mostly straight. Morgan lost some command in the middle of his outing, but was able to strike out 2 in his 2 innings of work.
7/26/16 - Max FB: 80, FB: 77-80, CB: 64-66, CH: 64-65, 6-foot-1, 165-pound, LHP uses a collected delivery that includes a very small hitch in the middle that is just different enough to throw a hitter off, Morgan give his glove a little tilt when his leg reaches the top of his lift and then begins toward the plate, lands slightly closed but does a good job of getting out front and on target, finishes very balanced the majority of the time, arm comes through a high ¾ slot. Fastball was mostly straight but showed some life and seemed heavy through the zone, curveball was a plus pitch, thrown for strikes, and showed some powerful 1/7 shape. Morgan struck out 4 hitters in his 2 innings of work. Definitely a 2019 that will draw a lot of interest once his velo creeps up a little more.
