The uncommitted senior ran one of the top 60 times at The All-State Games, posting a 6.74, but we have seen him run a 6.68 earlier in the fall. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide base, then triggers his hands back and down into a front arm bar with the barrel tilted behind his head. Short stride with balance, rotates lower half to contact, mix of line drives through the middle with ground balls to the pull side during batting practice. Flat path through the zone, strong hands and quick wrists at contact with an exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee. Swung it well during the game, crushed a double over the left fielders head and flew out on the barrel sharply to centerfield off a curveball. In the outfield, Herrera has an accurate arm, throwing from a high slot with a loose arm stroke at 83 mph.
