7.23.18
At 6-foot, 145-pounds, Testerman has a still developing, long-limbed frame. The right-hander works from a high slot with a compact arm swing, tilted shoulders, drop-and-drive delivery, long stride down the mound, and athletic finish. His fastball sat 82-84 mph. Throws a 12/6 curveball at 66-69 that pops up out of his hand, then shows good rotation and depth to finish. Mixed in a changeup at 75 mph with fastball arm speed. A two-way player, Testerman posted a 7.18 60-yard dash, running with athletic, long strides. The right-handed hitter starts from a wide base before pushing his hands back to load, then rotates his lower half as he slots the barrel in the zone. Inside-out path, working on an uphill plane produced line drives through the infield with an exit velocity of 81 mph. On the infield, he has a quick first step and shows solid lateral range. Staggered footwork in his fielding position with soft hands, a clean exchange, and a top velocity of 82 mph across the infield.
06.12.18
5-foot-11, 145-pound frame with a high waist. Off the mound he was 82-84 mph. Testerman has an over the top delivery with a high balance point and a short arm action which hid the ball well from a hitter’s perspective. He is smooth in his delivery and had downhill plane to his fastball when he worked down in the zone with it. His breaking ball has a 12/6 shape, and was 65-66 mph and he threw a straight changeup with deceptive hand speed at 73-75 mph. Testerman ran a 7.24 laser-timed 60. At the plate he has a wide stance with a smooth load back with his hands and body, does not stride, and maintains excellent balance in his swing with a level swing path. He controlled the barrel at the plate hitting low line drives all over the yard with a simple swing. Across the infield he had 81 mph arm strength.
