A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.

A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
The Sr. RHP took the ball on Friday night and was impressive most of the night. He was very efficient, only throwing 17 pitches thru the first 2 innings. His FB was 87-89 with ASR and sink. He generated a lot of week contact on the ground early in the count. His slider looked better than previous viewings, as it showed more depth and came from the same arm slot. The Houston Signee has a large frame and I expect another velo bump down the road.
2/21/22
The Houston signee followed up Loser and was impressive in his outing. His fastball was 87-89 with good sinking action to it. When he attacks the bottom of the zone, he is tough to elevate. His breaking ball was his best secondary, coming in at 71-75. When he throws it harder, it will be his put away pitch. He flashed a couple changeups to LHH as well to keep them honest. Cunningham will be a big part of Guyer’s success this year, and I expect his stuff to continue to tick up as the season goes on.
7/20/21
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-foot-5, 225 pounds.
Delivery: Starts tall, drops into drive position quickly, falls off to 1B side at times, consistent release point, finishes athletically.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, high ¾ slot.
FB: 84-88 mph. Strikes at times the top of the zone with arm-side run.
SL: 78-80 mph. Flashed ability to land it in the zone, 10/4 shape.
6/11/19
A great pitcher’s frame and a lot of room to grow into it, Cunningham is 6-foot-4, 200-pounds. Makes a high leg kick, hitches timing to load hip forward and stays compact down the hill with a quick, deep arm swing. Fastball worked at 80-82 mph, pumped 68 mph changeup with feel, and spun top-over 68-69 mph curveball.
