Dean is an offensive infielder that was a top performer in the Limited Series this summer, and recent Louisiana-Lafayette commit. To put it simple, this kid finds the barrel, and finds it often. Whether it’s velocity or spin, he can hit, and the swing just works. Registered an exit velocity of 95 mph off the tee, plays with a bounce in his step, and profiles as an offensive second baseman in college.
Dean was all over the field, and appears to be the type of player that every coach wants in his program. He played with tons of energy on both offense and defense. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder features some natural strength throughout a compact frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has quick hands with strength through the zone and smoked a double into the gap on the first day. In game three, Dean had an outstanding at-bat to start the game in which he fouled off multiple pitches before smoking a double down the line. His energy is apparent and he plays the game with grit and confidence.
