8/1/19:�Undrafted and unknown to many scouts previous to his time in the Cape, Merryman attacked with a lively 90-93 mph fastball and a sharp 75 mph slider. The sturdy built 6-foot-1, 220 pound submariner consistently kept his sinking fastball down in the zone with some showing late, sharp tail. On this look, he made quick work of the Hyannis lineup for a three up, three down ninth and his fourth save of the Cape season. After earning MVP honors for the Western JC Athletic Conference as a starting pitcher last spring, look for the sophomore-to-be Merryman to be a major weapon in the back end of the Longhorn bullpen this spring. A current non-drafted free agent, he will become 2021 draft eligible once he enters college at Texas this fall. (Seifert)
