An offense first catcher, the 5-foot-11 Tamez will have an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa as the likely starting behind the plate this spring. He's one of several former Arkansas Razorbacks to make our Top 50 JC transfer list. He batted .400 (4-for-10) as a true freshman in Fayetteville, then raked (.386/.451/.665) at McLennan this spring where they won the 2021 JUCO D1 title.

06.27.17 - Arkansas recruit. 5-foot-10, 190-pound, sturdy frame. Tamez has a quick exchange behind the plate, posting pop times of 1.9 and 1.93. The right-handed hitter has juice in the bat with pull side power as he transfers his weight through contact and finishes the barrel with ease. He showed a good approach and the ability to backspin balls through the middle of the field and drive balls to the left-centerfield gap.

Arkansas recruit. 5-foot-10, 190-pound, strong frame. The right-handed hitter shows strength in the barrel with elite bat speed and pull-side power. Behind the the plate he has a quick exchange and good footwork, transfers the ball into a strong throwing motion with carry in the arm.
