SAN ANTONIO - We were at the beautiful new Northeast Sports Park taking in the first matchups of 27-6A District action. The two matchups of the evening were the Mavericks of Madison High School taking on the Chargers of Churchill High School in game one, and the Rattlers of Reagan High School going to battle against the Jaguars of Johnson High School.

SA Madison 9 - SA Churchill 7
Madison got out to a quick start against Churchill with five runs in the first, then tacking on runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and two in the 4th. Churchill stayed agressive at the plate and chipped away at their deficit, but it would prove to be too much.

Notable Players:
2019 RHP/OF Derek Klosowski, UTSA commit, pitched 3.2 innings and put together five strong at-bats. On the mound Klosowki was 85-87, T88, with a big bending curveball at 71-73. He had moments of scattered command, pushing up his pitch count, but he did a great job of limiting damage during his innings. At the plate, the right-handed hitter who is ranked No. 173 in the state for the senior class was 5-5 with five hard singles. Klosowski has a flat barrel through the zone and works the ball back up the middle with authority.
