10.28.17 Still uncommitted, LaBruyere has plenty of projection still left in his 6-foot-3, 170-pound, lean frame. The right-hander had a solid outing, recording four punchouts, working from a high slot with a short, quickish arm circle. Repeats his delivery with good tempo and feel for two pitches. Fastball flashes tilt at 84-85 mph, topping out once at 87. Was able to get swings and misses with a 12/6 curveball that has short, late break at 71-72 mph. Maintains good arm speed, creating depth on his changeup at 75 mph.

A two-way player and right-handed hitter, he starts from a tall open stance, then turns inward as he loads back, picking his hands up, then striding out, landing square. Gap approach during batting practice with line drive power and an exit velocity of 82 mph off the tee. Barrel stays in the zone a long time, flat path, strong hands with good barrel awareness. On the infield, LaBruyere moves with fluid footwork and shows good glove action making the one handed play into an accurate arm stroke at 82 mph across the diamond. Long stride runner, 6.84 60-yard dash.

05.27.17 - 6-foot-2, 175-pound, lean, loose frame. LaBruyere started the day with 7.02-second 60-yard dash time. The shortstop does a nice job of getting into his fielding position with his glove on the ground every time, even though he has a taller frame. He flashes a quick exchange and threw 82 mph across the infield.

Fall 2016 - 6-foot-2, 175-pound wiry, strong frame. The right-handed hitter had a great day at the plate putting a barrel on the ball all four plate appearances. LaBruyere shows the ability to keep the barrel in the zone a long time with a short, compact hand path that produces good strength at contact. He was 2-for-4 on the day with two base hits, a fly out and a ground ball to second base that was scorched on a one-hop.
